RECAP: Brunch & All White Charity Fashion Show

Posted on

Like most active bloggers or stylist you are approached by opportunities to be a part of mixers, reviews, and all things fashion. So, as I opened my inbox I saw an email from Innovative Marketing & Management. Ms. LaToya Hurley inquired if MeYe Label would like to be involved in a Labor Day Weekend line of events that was all geared toward Suicide Awareness.   As I looked at the link she provided and followed up with a  call, I had no doubt I wanted to be a part of the 3rd Annual charity event that focused on Suicide Awareness. It resonated with me because within the African American race its rarely discussed. Therefore bringing awareness is even more important than many think.

The Brunch Experience was the first event held at the Tasting Room located at Uptown Park in Houston Texas September 3, 2016. The food looked amazing. I saw French toast to red velvet pancakes and the watermelon mimosa had me feeling real nice!

Brunch Experience focused on topics surrounding Life, Finances, Love and Faith.  I was one of the panelists and it was such an honor to be surrounded by powerful, strong, professional women ranging from Designers & Stylist to Financial Analyst.

The guest were amazing and following the panel discussion the rest of the evening was opened for networking and of course shopping with some fantastic vendors.  There was unique jewelry to Popping lashes by Lemons and Lashes. I did actually purchase a pair!!

I truly hope everyone left with at least one nugget to take away. It was truly a GREAT experience for me.

Now, that I have been empowered it was time to show my talents.  That following day Sunday September 4, 2016 at the Hobby Center was the 3rd Annual All White Charity Fashion Show.  There was a total of four hosts including myself. Host’s were designer Ashley Dunn, former football player and motivational speaker Jay Barnett , Blogger Rumela Dey and myself Stylist /Fashion Influencer and Vintage Boutique owner of MeYe Label.

I always get nervous before a show, only because I want my segment to be seamless. That definitely couldn't have happened with out my style assistant Cierra De'Chaun.

I wanted MeYe Label to showcase winter vintage with sophistication. These pieces can be worn to work, out with girlfriends, and even with that special person.

What was great about the fashion show is that you had a variety of looks from the other designers. There was Urban, Edgy, Bohemian, Sexy and Vintage.

A portion of the proceeds were donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Houston Chapter. Designers included La Bella Elisa, Markina Smith, Darnell McGowen Designs, Designs by Claire, The MeYe Label and Gypsy Mecca.

I definitely want to thank all the beautiful Models / MUA and Hairstylist.
