If you haven’t heard of QueenLyfe (www.queenlyfe.org) then I'm here to tell you about it. QueenLyfe, Inc is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote financial literacy, creative expression, healthy relationships, mentor-ship and civic engagement through workshops and events for women of all ages.
Founded by Candace Strother, she created the L.Y.F.E. acronym which stands for (Love-Yourself-First-Everyday). She saw a need for women to reconnect to their birthrights as "Queens" by promoting the powerful message of self-love.
With all that being mentioned above, when Candace asked me to be a part of her volume 4 Sip and Share, I had no doubt that I wanted to support and I immediately accepted.
Realizing this amazing event was taking place on my 39th birthday, I couldn’t have thought of a better way to celebrate it than to share my “Pursuit of Purpose” which was the Topic of the Sip of Share.
The event took place January 28, 2017 at The Health Museum (1515 Hermann Dr. Houston Tx 77004) and a portions of the proceeds will be donated to "Project Mona-Lisa", a QueenLyfe Inc. self-esteem building initiative.
That night I was able to share the stage with amazing panelists:
1. Tera Roberson Stidum (www.shedatessavvy.com) IG@shedatessavvy. Tera Roberson Stidum, personality is so inspiring, she makes you want to stop making excuses for yourself and pursue your purpose with a PLAN.
2. Candace Strother CEO, QueenLyfe Inc. (www.queenlyfe.org) IG@queenlyfe1 has such a calming tone that it brought a sense of comfort and peace within. As she shared her courage to pursue her purpose utilizing key memories such as during her childhood her father had a tool box with many different tools. One thing that stuck with Candace is that you have all the tools you need to pursue your purpose and it starts with faith.
3. Of course I had to share my thoughts, Mimi Irvin “aka” Corporate Chic owner of MeYe Label (www.meyelabel.com) IG@officialcorporatechic. The key message I wanted to share was for me passion and purpose starts at your most innocent years in life (childhood). Meaning as a child you have a passion that organically takes place. A child can be a lover of sports, fashion, art or music etc. and not become famous or an entrepreneur. Most of the time those passions get buried in the day to day life as an adult.
So I say, if you’re trying to figure out what your purpose is, start with that childhood passion, for it could be the start of your blue print to pursue your purpose.
4. Lastly, the event couldn’t have flowed any better if it wasn’t for moderator, Denise Hamilton, CEO and Founder of www.WatchHerWork.com IG@watcherworking . Denise has the most beautiful smile and warm spirit. Her listening ear to what each panelist had to bring, fueled her more as she asked the right questions to provide the audience with responses that were full of value and purpose.
Following the panel discussion there was plenty of shopping, eating and networking!
